From citalopram to fluoxetine....

Hi all,

My GP said to me earlier today that he was going to increas my citalopram to 40mg a day instead of 20mg but when I went to collect my prescription he's changed it completely to fluoxetine!

After reading some of the posts on here I'm slightly scared to take it....I already feel bad enough as it is without feeling like I've hit rock bottom!

It says "2 to be taken twice a day" but surely 80mg would be too much?

I think you should get in touch with your GP before taking it.

Hi it sounds like there must be sort of mix up with your perscription, id call your doctor before you take it but def don't take 2 xx

Same as above, he wouldnt just change your medication without discussing it with you x

I'm definitely not going to take two but I'm not too sure whether to take one tomorrow morning as maybe he meant to change it?

I would've thought your gp would have discussed it with you first if he was going to change you, id def speak to them first xx

Yep all sorted, he upped my citalopram to 40mg & said he was really sorry as he didn't know why he did that! Weird!
