Hello,

Just a quick question, I know this is all stress related to an extent but want to make sure. This first started around 6 months ago when I first started worrying about my health. I was about to fall asleep and my body seized up and felt this adrenalin rush allover my body, felt like i was going to die, as I couldn't breathe for a few seconds. Like something was happening. This has happened 3-4 times over the course of my health anxiety. Never happened before that. I'm sure it's my body responding to all the adrenaline i release because of the panic attacks during the day, I used to get frequently.

Has anyone had this? I'm sure this is because of everything on my plate, stress wise.

What do you guys think?

I get this most nights unless I fall asleep watching the TV.
Sometimes it's like my body has forgotten to breathe, or a zap in
My head.
It can keep happening for over an hour and I can't get any sleep.
It makes me scared to sleep, I've told the doctor and he's referred
Me to a sleep specialist on 19th feb
Xxxx

I have read on several forums that it is a pretty common thing among people that are stressed, I honestly think it's to do with all the stress that we have in terms of health anxiety and so on. It's so weird.

I forgot to mention, it's more like weakness all over my body to the point where I can't move. I honestly think it's excessive stress and anxiety but could be something else, just worried.

Zaps are exactly how I would describe it. Since they don't happen unlesz I'm stressed before going to bed or if sometging wakes me up all night (like the bleddy cat ;D) I can safely say my anxiety is responsible for it. Sleep Paralysis can make you seize up the way you described, and apparantly almost everyone experiences it at least once in their life. It's onlh a problem if you had it a lot of times in a few nights; I've had about the same number of these horrible experiences as you.
