So my eyes are pretty messed up, kind of. I have good vision and all but i do have visual snow which is that layer of static over everything. Horribly annoying but whatever i guess.

So today was extremely foggy, and my eyes were going nuts. I was seeing sparks everywhere and extreme floaters and my vision was just going insane.

My vision does this all the time only when i look at the sky, in fog, and when i look at snow. I am not sure why. Its extremely annoying I just want my vision to be normal. I had all these sparks of lights and floaty thingys and static. Whats wrong with my eyes?!

I have visual snow too : ( it really sucks and I used to worry it meant I was going blind!
personally I find they are more intense when looking at white/blank paper/walls, the sky and at night time.

How many floaters do you have? I think I've the same one now for years as its a certain shape, it does dispenser sometimes so I think maybe it just moves out of my line of vision.

I get this thing too that does worry me, sometimes I get like flashes in the edge I think of my vision, like someone increases and then reduces the light, sort of in a pulsating matter like it flashed/pulsates with my heart beat.

I do some times see blue spots, I think it's usually blue but I'm not sure, it just comes and then goes away.

I see halos too around things, like street lamps at night time,
I get ghosting I think it's called, like you look at the tv then look at the wall and you'll see the ghost/imprint of the tv for a few seconds.
Due to the migraines I see sparks or almost like mini auras.

I've had all this since I was really young... I saw an eye specialist once, they used eye drops to dilate and then color my eye so I assume my eye is fine.

I have had that visual field test done on specsavers and that was fine.
I have very good vision lol minus all the disturbances.
I also had the glaucoma test where they blow air into your eye, my body kept jumping so I had to do it a few times, it didn't hurt just that anything blowing into your eye can make you move away, well me at least.

So least I know my eyes them selves are ok.

I dunno it might be something you need to accept?
Or maybe see if migraine medication can help.

It doesn't feel like im getting a migraine. Usually when i get a migraine i get like these row of blocks in my vision flashing rapidly which makes me sick to my stomach. Atleast thats what i think my migraine auras are.

I just hate how in the fog, snow, and sky, all i see is rapidly flashing lights, they are a light blue i think, and floaters and i dont know everything is just a visual mess! Its driving me nuts. I thought the less i notice it, it might go away but so far thats not the case.

My vision issues began when I started having migraines.
I often can get migraine like symptoms but without the headache/migraine.
you can get visual auras without the headache, I've gotten them sometimes.
how long does it last? what are doing/looking at when it happens?

Mine are often triggered by light, sun light, tv screens, computer screens...

do you mean like sparkles? glittering/flashing type effect?

Yeah! it looks flashy just like that, but in a block form! I only had one migraine, usually from extreme workouts when I overdue myself. I have gotten the auras a couple times do that have no head ache following them. I have always had visual snow, as long as i remember, I was told it was pollution when i was a little kid lol. So i just brushed it off and never noticed it. but now that i notice it a lot its pretty bad. my visual snow is 27/7, along with those sparks and floaters and wiggily things that go nuts when i look at the snow sky and fog.

you might have been dehydrated, or maybe it was your fast heart rate or something that triggered it off.
lots of things trigger them, for me it's stress, hormones and light but I've seen others say that working out, running can trigger off a migraine.
My visual snow has worsened since it started forever ago and yes it's there 24/7 too.
I tend to look through it and not notice it too much, unless it's very bright out or it's night time and dark.
it looks worse on blank surfaces such as a wall.
threes a another thing called persistent aura, where you get like an aura but it doesn't clear up,
I think neurologists usually deal with these things, as it's caused by the brain and not the eyes, so it could be worth going to one.

they are medication which can help
"The patient was prescribed atenolol at a dosage of 25 mg daily. She displayed remission of the headache, but persistence of the negative visual phenomenon. Forty milligrams of Furosemide p.o. daily was then prescribed, with subsequent complete resolution of the visual symptoms in five days. This medication was discontinued during follow-up, and no further visual aura emerged."

a persistent aura is when it lasts longer than a week, huh I wonder if meds could help with the visual snow?
If it is migraine related there is a very good chance it would show up on the MRI scan.

Its really hard to say if its migraine related since i don't have anything besides a blurry spot and flashing blocks aruond my vision for auras. So its really hard to say if its migraine related. Maybe theres something neuroligcally wrong with me. i hope theyre isnt. I mean the flashing lights, sparks, and floaters only occur in the snow fog and sky like i said, so it cant be that big of a deal. I think. Its really annoying ugh. Maybe is should see a neroligist or an eye doctor?

i get floaters but much of the time i dont notice them..... saying that though, they are much more noticable if it's overcast, foggy or there's snow on the ground. i did mention it to my optician he says its normal. i do have one that interferes with reading sometimes & they are much worse if i am very tired. i believe generally speaking they are natural - a part of ageing!!! boo hoo.

I am only 16! I shouldn't be having floaters yet! I think lol

You are just a variation of normal. Many people are born completely blind, or blind in one eye. Be thankful that you have good vision and don't let this affect one more second of your life. You're 16, enjoy that fact.

Yeah that is true! but anxiety has taken over my life so my teenage years aren't fun at all!
