Hello all

Just a quick question. I've been taking amlodipine for a couple of months
Now. And recently the doctor gave me ramipril to get my BP even lower.

Good news my BP is now 115/78

However. I've been getting really bad acid.
I take 30mg lansoprazole every day but now I've
Got chest aches and keep burping up vomit.

My food seems to sit at the top of my stomach. I've
Also got trapped wind.

Has anyone else had these problems with amlodipine?

Thanks xxx

Oh dear. Maybe it's not the BP meds causing it.

Is anyone else on this medicine? Is it ok for you?

Thanks xxx

Hello Tracie, I'm also on Amlodopine 10mg, and I also get quite bad gas/indegestion. I never used to get it so I can only assume it's the medication, never thought of it that way :P

My gas is so bad sometimes that my stomach will be popping for a good 30mins.

Just the other day I had indegestion, and it took a good 2/3 days before it had totally gone, I just take gaviscon regularly when I get it.

Hello honey

Thanks so much for answering me, kinda get worried
If no one answers!!!
Must say I've never had indigestion this bad, really thought
It was my heart!!
I done my BP this morn it was 117/78
This eve 131/93???

I take amlodipine 5 mg and 2.5 ramipril
Have only been on the ramipril for a week
Is it normal to have these readings when on meds?

Sorry I'm new to this hypertension stuff
Thanks again x

Sorry I'm only 21 I'm new to this as well.
I started off taking 2.5g then 5g now 10g

I had a 24hr BP monitor and my BP flucuates during the day, when I had the first reading taken at doctors it was 180/105 lol
then 2hrs later it was 130/75 and kept going lower..so yeah even with medication your BP will flucuate BP meds just makes sure when you're relaxed your heart is relaxed, but ofcourse if your anxious or have eaten or moved recently your BP will automatically be up.

My indegestion feels like a knot just underneath my breastbone, I find it hard to eat and sometimes breathe, when I breathe in it will feel like the bottom of my breast bone is going in too. Accompanied by upper chest pain too.

OMG your only 21 with high BP
Just goes to show you that anyone can suffer with this.
Im 46, Only recently got diagnosed, i thought it must be my age!!
Ive just read that it can take a few weeks to get a regular reading from the onset of meds.
hope the indigestion stops, or i will have to change pills

thanks honey take care x

Well I've had ECHO MRI done on heart and other organs and everything is working as it should.
So they said it could be in my gene's OR a side effect of having chemotheropy but unlikely.
And yeah BP meds do take about 2 weeks to settle in. I think my BP stayed high for at least 2 months until I started seeing difference :)

If you're worried ask your GP or nurse for a 24hr BP monitor it really helps if you haven't had one before.
