I've finally got back to work after being off 4 weeks & only worked 4 days this week with phased hours 10-3 & 2 hours travelling and tonight I'm in tears & so deflated. I've had to suffer every day with my anxiety symptoms of burning skin all over & sore throat and got through it without panic attack so why am I feeling so low when I should be feeling its an achievement? The burning is not stopping & now convinced there is something really wrong with me as I keep thinking once I was back at work it would go away (6 weeks now). Anyone else felt like this as now I'm dreading next week again. I'm not on any meds, trying to do this myself:weep:

Hi there

Don't be too hard on yourself :)
This is only week 1
When I first returned to work, I felt the very same, dry throat, heart racing.
It will get better. Just take one day at a time
The fact you are back to work is amazing and you were only off for 4 weeks, so you are still adjusting.
I think you are doing great by being and just take one day at a time
Take care:yesyes:

Maybe you should see your doctor and see if meds will help you. I am going back on a phased return next week but only 1.5 hours to start with.

Doc says he thinks I should be able to do it by myself through self taught cbt etc. I'm the same hours next week Annie. Its a struggle :weep:

Cbt does help but I know how much a struggle going back to work can be especially when work increases anxiety. I am pleased my boss agreed to just starting with 1.5 hours. maybe if you speak to your boss you could do less hours next week especially as you have all the travelling time on top of that.
