chest xray

Hi. Does anyone have any idea how reliable chest xrays are at finding lung cancer? Mine was clear but Im terrified it missed something. Dr won't refer me for ct scan even if I pay privately.

any diagnosis of lung cancer is made by xray a friend of mines mum saw the xray herself that showed the start of lung cancer shes fine now tho

stop worrying if your xray is clear then you dont have it

But there are stories on line that they can be missed, even large ones. I know I shouldn't Google but its too late now!

If you had lung cancer you would have a lot of problems.

My doctor said she can diagnose lung cancer easily from a few basic tests (no scan or x-rays) and she has never been wrong.

So I would say you don't have it

Thank you Nicola. I feel fine apart from the pains and having a cold. Just want it to get better now. I've not done anything for 6 weeks.

Nicola is right if you had lung cancer you would have had a lot of problems and the x-rays are very good at picking things up.

Your pains could just be the general pains that everyone has but because we have anxiety all or aches and pains feel a lot worse.
Once your cold has gone you well fell a lot better.
