View Full Version : Sensitive teeth?
Since my anxiety started i have noticed my teeth have become more sensitive, has this happened to anyone else? Then again, i may be imagining it, I don't know
Hi Deejay :) Are you aware of clenching or grinding your teeth in your sleep? (Waking up with jaw ache) Because these actions can directly be caused by anxiety, and in turn can make your teeth feel sensitive during the day.
I agree with Daisy Sue regarding grinding your teeth in your sleep. I do this, my dentist made me a silicone mouth guard to wear at night and it helps so much. I also used to bite my cheeks and tongue, which is really painful too, not a problem anymore.
Speak to your dentist.
I think this is quite common among anxiety sufferers.
I have this...I get awful pains in my teeth & jaw especially after sleep as I do clench my jaw and grind my teeth. Look up 'Bruxism'. My doctor told me to go to the dentist to have a toothguard made. It can be caused by stress/anxiety and is a side effect of some medications too. Kitti :)

I do it too, and had one of those guards made... I couldn't get used to it though :(
Hmm... that makes a lot of sense. I will bring it up with my dentist next time I see him, thanks for the input.
