I'm ill with a cold and sinusitis, I've been resting for two days on my bed/sofa because its made me feel so weak and exhausted. GP told me to rest but I'm worrying I'm resting too much. I'm on a low dose pill for heavy periods, always feared dvt so now I'm resting alot I'm worried.

I'm on my third day of rest now, I get up every hour or two to go to the loo, make a drink etc.... My husband says its totally bed bound people that are at risk by I can't help but worry:(

Any words of wisdom?

I could hardly move from the sofa for 4 months when I fractured my foot. My son couldn't move for 2 months after his major cardio/thoracic op. You will be fine. It is best to move about as much as you can with colds though..not for the risk of DVT but because it will help recovery. A little walk out in the fresh air will do you good especially as it is a nice sunny day.
