heartburn? - silly i know

Can someone offer some comforting advice.

Silly i know but while i was away this weekend visiting my sis, we wnt partying and I smoke when socialising. I smoked a hell of a lot, for someone who doesnt really smoke.

Anyway since yesterday i have a horrible feeling in my chest and mouth, like acid / heart burn, it is horrible, it is hot and acidy.
I am really worried i have damaged myself / maybe even given myself cancer or something.

Some advise please.......[V][V][V][V][V]

A least one good thing it has totally put me off smoking!!

youve not given yourself cancer after one night of smoking so fear not and just let it put oyu off smoking for good

Hi Hay,

Did you have a few drinks while out partying? If so, maybe the heart burn sensation is due too much alcohol causing acid reflux (harmless and temporary) and may be totally unrelated to the smoking....Just a thought.

Like Jackie says, it's very unlikely that anyone would get cancer from one episode of smoking, though i completely understand your anxiety on this, i usually get sidetracked by the most dramatic and severe conclusions as regards symptoms and usually completely miss more likely (and less harmful) alternatives.

Sounds more like the alcohol than the fags.

Didnt really drink that much
no more then usual, but i did mix a few cocktails which i dont usually.

Thanks for all the words of wisdom.
Am staying away from fags now. and keeping alocohol to a minimum!
