Hi Folks

Im having a hernia operation in 2 weeks under local.

With my track record of panic im gonna freak out when i get in.

The doctor has given me 5mg of diazepam but i dont think its gonna be enough.

Hes given me 5 of these.

I was thinking of taking 2, Im not driving or anything so be no problem there, but then i dont want to overdose on them.
Am i safe doing this??
I know you can get 10mg and ideally this would have been the best way, But my doctor cant seem to understand the stress that i will get into.

Any advise would be great.
cheers Lee:weep:

Yes you are perfectly safe and it is a fairly straight forward procedure, especially under a local. they may also give you a relaxing suppository beforehand and I expect you will be home the same day.
I had a hernia operation many years ago but under a full anathestic and came home the next day.
the worst part for you is the anxiety build up or wait for the next two weeks. try and occupy your mind with other thing which I appreciate is not easy, but really it is nothing to worry about. Good luck.

Thanks for reply, It is the build up i think.

I had the 5 mg before and im ok with them but was sure it wouldnt be strong enough, if i go sleep then thats even better.

The thought of lying there not being able to move and freaking out is the problem.

If i can sedate myself enough for this ill be fine. (i think) haha
