Right I have a appointment tomorrow at the hospital to see a eye specialist.

To get the result of my recent field of vision test and to hopefully find out what caused my loss of vision in my left eye (all be it for 5 minutes).

Hopefully I will be able to ask some questions but to other vision problems I have with my left eye ie bright sparks and a blind spot that has occured over time also sometimes my vision will shake say if I'm watching tv.
Can any relate to all this.

But I have posted this mainly to ask about this eye drops thingy to dilate the pupils I really don't like anything in my eyes and this spooks me a bit.

Good luck I hope you get some answers

I've had some probs with eyes, like you I really don't like things in my eyes but they put the drops in so so quick, it doesn't hurt and its over before you know it

Wish you lots of luck for tomorrow xtremx :hugs:

I have had all this done before as suspected glaucoma due to high pressure behind my eyes. I too hate eye drops but it was fine, honestly...vision cloudy for a bit and huge 'owl eyes' :scared15: lol. Make sure you take your sunnies with you :shades: as your eyes will be sensitve to light for a while afterwards, and possibly a bit blurry. Nothing to worry about and perfectly normal. I found the hardest bit was keeping my eye on the central dot when doing the visual field test, I had to do it 3 times before they could get an accurate reading

I hope you have someone going along to support you, but if you don't, don't worry you will still be able to see, just not safe to drive. Fingers crossed it's all positive for you.
Best of luck, keep us posted. Kitti :bighug1: xx

Thanks sparkle 1979 and kittikat.

Yeah hopefully I will get some answers. I like the idea of owl eyes:scared15:...I think the eye department is near the drugs dependence unit..I could be in for a long stay.

I will update after my appointment and yeah I have book a chauffeur for the day but no limousine...

Cheers and thanks

Hi xtremx...I had the drops in a couple of weeks ago and it's not bad at all! I just couldn't see a thing up close afterwards for a couple of hours or so and my eyes were super sensitive to the light when I walked outside...My mum told me that the whites of my eyes had turned to a yellowy/orange colour too :/

When I went to my appointment the other week they had me reading the letters chart, then I had to do the field test, then after that the consultant put the drops in my eyes just so he could have a good look at them! I was worried sick and thinking allsorts but it wasn't anything bad at all!

Good luck for tomorrow :)

Haha, I'm laughing now because I just replied to you on the other thread as well! We'll have to stop meeting like this!

They told me my results on the day..He said there was a certain type of lesion at the back of my eye that I would've had since birth and that's what's causing the visual field defect! I haven't got to have any more hospital appointments now, I just need to go for the routine eye tests.

Yes we will people will talk :)

Well atleast you know that it s something that you have cope with all you life so you can take that from it all and it is good that it will be check upon with routine eye tests.

How do you feel about the outcome are you ok with it?

And like I said on your thread I will update you tomorrow If i can see my phone on the way home..

Yeah, I was definitely pleased with the outcome! I was a wreck for the month when I was waiting for my hospital appointment so it was a massive relief when the consultant told me I had nothing to worry about!...The problem I have now is that all the worrying about my eye seems to have triggered off my health anxiety..I feel like I'm so aware of every ache, pain and sensation again now whereas before my eye test I was doing alright!

Oh God, I couldn't see my phone at all! I text a friend afterwards and when I read it later I'd wrote that I felt "As vlind as a bit cux I"ve got drips in my eyes bit I'n ok" I always thought I could type without looking but obviously not!
