Developed a fear of taking any kind of medication

Hi there,

I currently have a kidney infection and have been prescribed Trimethoprim. I'm terrified if I take it I'll have one of the rare side effects and die. At the same time, I know that if I don't take it, my kidneys could be damaged permanently (and that's much more likely to happen).

Can anybody who has taken this before reassure me that it's fine?

I am "miss allergic/super-sensitive to everything"! I'm also quite scared of meds (for obvious reasons!)... However, I have taken trimithroprin (or however you spell it) for cystitis and had no probs at all..

I am "miss allergic/super-sensitive to everything"! I'm also quite scared of meds (for obvious reasons!)... However, I have taken trimithroprin (or however you spell it) for cystitis and had no probs at all..

I've even taken it before and had no issues! (Pre anxiety though...I miss the days when I just took prescribed pills with no qualms whatsoever).

I've just taken one pill, and there are three days worth. One down, five to go!
