I have hypothyroid, which means my thyroid levels are low. And I've been on levothyroxine for about four/five days now and every time I take it, I get a bit of palpitations about an hour or so after taking it. Is this normal under the circumstances? Could I be getting palpitations because my body is trying to get used to the medicine? Or could it be because I don't exercise? Any help is welcome. x

I just asked my partner as they're on thyroxine (& have been for decades). I don't think they have had this problem in relation to the medication. More so, any palpitations they have had are more likely just to be normal ones that probably any of us could get just as a natural thing that could happen in the normal course of life. They don't get any side-effects from this med, just the undoubted benefit of taking it. Hope this helps!
