Pain in back

Hello everyone, I'm just about to go to work for a night shift and I am getting myself so worked up, I don't know why, I've been fairly settled for weeks. I keep getting a sharp pain in the middle of my back, it lasts about 3-5 mins then goes, I don't get it then for about 4 hours. Why am I getting so worked up? Do you think this could be serious, it's only started happening today. I keep thinking something is going to happen to me at work, scared of being away from my family tonight. Suppose on the upside I work in a hospital. Any suggestions anyone :(

If it has only started today I wouldn't worry about it, it sounds to me like muscle spasms. Like you say if it does get worse you will be in the best place but I am sure it is nothing serious and most likely muscular.

I agree with Annie, it does sound muscular, try not to work yourself up about it
