Hey guys,

I try not to make threads so much anymore as im just trying to get on with things and ignore the random pains, sensations and symptoms I have been having but these things are getting me down.

My anxiety is nowhere near as bad as it used to be which is good but recently things have just been grinding me down.

I have had chest pains, fluttery chest sensations and have been randomly getting out of breath which gets me a bit worried but apart from that I just feel weak and so run down, yet I haven't been doing anything and my anxiety hasn't been bad. I have been getting severe pains in my head which last for about 5 seconds and then subside, i get about 3 or 4 of these a day. I woke up last night after an hours sleep, with my head pounding, bad head pressure, I was shaking and the dryest mouth that wouldn't go away however much a drank lol.

Im just fed up with it all, im trying to move on with my life and accept these feelings as anxiety and just get on with things but they are grinding me down.

Why am I getting these strange random symptoms. My anxiety has been much better for months now, i go to they gym most days and do some other stuff but I still get these pains and sensations every day.

Just feel like im stuck at the point where I am and cant see a way further forward, if anything I can see these things bringing my severe anxiety back and I really don't want that to happen.

Any advice on what I should be doing to get over this hurdle? Or what could be causing these symptoms?

Thanks for reading guys x

Hey,

I think the most important thing is for you to see your doctor. It could be absolutely nothing but it's best to get checked out to put your mind at rest if nothing else. It's great that your anxiety isn't as bad as it used to be but like you say you don't want these pains and sensations to trigger an increase in your anxiety levels. I'm not sure if this is any help but do you feel that you are drinking enough water throughout the day? If you are exercising alot and not drinking enough fluids maybe you are dehydrated and I know this can trigger headaches or head pains etc. Just a thought.

Best wishes
Hannah

I think you should see the your GP too. I don't know how you are copeing to be honest. Have you had tests for any of your concerns gota?

Thanks guys,

hanj16, I make sure I get plenty of water throughout the day so I don't think it can be down to that, wish it was that simple.

Yea I am thinking about going back to my GP but its like I will be going around in circles again. I know for a fact they will say there's nothing wrong with me and to come back if i don't feel better in a few weeks, or they will say it might be anxiety. I was in and out the doctors with these symptoms and other strange symptoms a few months ago and nothing was ever found. I had the standard full blood count and I had an ECG and they were both said to be normal. I don't even know what sort of things I need to be checked for and you can be sure my doctor wont look into it.

It may well all be anxiety but I am just so fed up of feeling crap, I try to just carry on as normal but you can only do that for so long.

So I don't really know where I go from here.

So sorry Gota. I have the same problem with GP. I have had blood tests for an on going problem and they were ok. I went back after a few months because my problem
had not improved, the GP said I was a mystery.
If I had said could I see a private consultant, the pen would have reached the paper
in a flash.
Gota, Could you ask for a brain scan? or is that asking too much? You don't always
get a positive response, and would you want the scan anyway???
I hope you get some positive reasurance if you decide on going back to your GP:hugs:

Thanks Magic,

I know what you mean about the doctors.

I completely forgot to mention that I have had a Brain CT scan and it was normal, trust it was hard work getting it, but I was having all sorts of mad symptoms so they had to check things out in the end. Its not as detailed as an MRI but shows there's no tumors or anything. So I guess I am a mystery to or anxiety is subconsciously causing these symptoms.

I just don't get it, it felt like I was on some kind of drug when I woke up last night, my jaw was clenching grinding, I was shaking. Just hope things get better somehow.

It all comes down to what you believe at the end of the day. What do you believe. Is it anxiety? Or is it something else? It's not difficult to get referral if you really believe it is what you think it is when you say to your doctor:

Look, I've tried my hardest to go on with life, but it's not subsiding, now we have two options, you can refer me, or I can go to another GP and get a referral. At the end of the day i'm going to get referred. You're not living with these symptoms, so you can't possibly know what i'm going through. Or go a different option and be so adamant that you cant be refused a referral. I need to see a specialist, and there's no way i'm leaving this doctors office without confirmation.

It's up to you.

I know your right mate but who do I even ask to be referred to? Which specialist do I want to see? I have no idea and my doctor certainly isn't going to make any effort to try and work these things out for me. Ive been in the doctors office and said pretty much exactly the statement you made and they say who do I think I need to be referred to, well I don't know, your the doctor not me. Anyway, I did get referred to a neuro for a brain scan and it was normal, it doesn't make these symptoms go away though.

I don't know what it is, that's my problem, I don't believe its one thing or another, im not a doctor.

I don't know, if you really want to go down that route then you have to become your own advocate. Medicine isn't easy. But by doing that you are going to be severely stressed out. You've already got the OK from the neuro, now get the OK from a cardiologist and then it's in god's hands.

Not much more to say.

I don't know whether that was sarcasm lol, but once you get the OK from those specialists, it's just about forgetting about it. If it keeps going on, get a second opinion. I usually worry about moles and bumps, so it's a different spectrum.

Sorry you are not feeling well. Those of us who suffer from HA, have such a hard time believing tests, and Doctors. Test seem to give us some temporary relief, but then when jump on to the next symptom/disease. I am really glad you have had all your test, sounds like you are very healthy. Maybe try going back, and just running by your Doc again, or maybe a second opinion. If everything turns out fine, you have to try to trust, and change that thinking. I am still trying, so if you figure it out let me know. Hope you feel better soon. :hugs:

Yea I do try and believe the tests and I do pretty much believe my heart is healthy and my brain is ok but I don't know whats going on, it does seem to me something is causing these symptoms, it may be anxiety but it doesn't feel like it. They are really random just when im sitting watching tv or in bed or eating, any random time these things come. I do not feel anxious when or before they come and I know subconsciousnly anxiety can cause these things but im not sure.

Today I have have been having these on and off periods where it feels like im coming up on a drug, similar to ecstasy, my eyes are wide and i feel lightheaded and start getting pressure and pains in my head. Its like im having a bit of a rush in my head somehow and then after half hour or so it subsides. I came off Sertraline about 2 months ago now so I dont if it could be me properly withdrawing from that now or it could be anxiety doing some mad random stuff. Just a mystery that goes on and on, even if I accept these things as anxiety they don't go away, so im at a loss for what to do, I will go back to the doctors but I know they wont check me out for anything and they may well be right not to but just going on and ignoring all these things isn't getting me anywhere.

Gotagetthroughthis - I know exactly what you mean when it comes to doctors. I have been through several doctors over the past few months because they are all so unhelpful. I have finally found one who listens and is proactive, which is all you can really ask for. I know this is a bit left field and to be honest, I'm a real sceptic, but my doctor actually referred to me on to a naturopath and I went to see her today. The things she did to diagnose me were whacky and I find it hard to believe what she does can work, but I'm at a point where I dont know what else to do, so willing to give anything a try. So I have just spent a lot of money ordering supplements and am going to see if they make a difference. Basically they're herbal supplements that will help with anxiety, sleep and disgestion, which are my main problem areas. At the very least, I feel like I am doing something and that gives me some hope, which is better than feeling completely hopeless and getting depressed. Anyway, it could be something to look at. If you can find a good naturopath who comes recommended, then that's better than just going with any old one. The main thing is that you will feel like you've been listened to and they do have experience working with other people who have more than likely had your symptoms.

Hey thanks Lilharry,

I will go back to my doctor and see if I have any luck and I will definitely look into finding a Naturopath, I just googled it and it sound very interesting and exactly like you say atleast your doing something about it and it gives you hope, even the placebo effect it may give can help at times if it is really a mental thing.
