Hi! Now..... where to start. My name is sara, I am 25 and i work with children with special educational needs. I have a partner of 6 years and i enjoy walking, watching rallying and being by the sea :D
I have browsed this website on numerous occasions, usually looking for some reassureance that I'm not the only one suffering from some symptoms i am convinced are cancer related!
I have suffered from health anxiety now for 5 years, but looking back have always worried about my health.... Checking my tummy nightly at the age of 12 looking for signs of a meningitous should of been a giveaway really! :D
Anyway, I am usually convinced i have some sort of cancer, and ofcourse its the worst possible, untreatable one around! I can joke about it, but in my head am still convinced :weep::shrug:
I have seen 2 councilers, 1 hypnotist and various (probably hundreds) but to no avail. In my experience I am the only one who can help me, don't know how yet, but im damned if its going to beat me :yesyes:
Thanks for reading, and I'm hoping I may be able to help some of you guys to :yesyes:

Hi Sara.
I totally understand where you are coming from, i think i suffer health anxiety but my dr feels its more gad.. It all started with a couple of deaths around me of close friends of the family leading me to question my own mortality.. Things got worse and worse over a period of a few months. I only joined yesterday so my intro is further down page so i wont bore you, but the long and the short is that i end up googling every twinge and pain, assuming the worst of course.
I am feeling better than i did a few weeks ago, through seeing a holistic healer who specialises in grief councilling who is helping me no end.
I hope that you can find some help here as i have been feeling alot better today, just by meeting people on here that are experiencing some of the same thing. :hugs:

Thanks For your message Rita. Ahhh the great Google doctor!! My doctors always tell me off for googling symptoms. I think I will find some reassurance by looking up symptoms, but this hardly ever happens. What I have found useful, is when getting the urge to google symptoms, instead look on here. It helps me to see that other anxiety sufferers get the same symptoms and helps me realise that its just anxiety.
Im glad you have found a great councellour and Wish you luck. We will beat this!!!!! X
