Hello,
I started having panic attacks the day after my daughter was born after a perfectly calm pregnancy and then a horrible birth. I didn't realise what they were even though I had them when I was younger eg in crowds - probably because I was having them constantly and at home.
I went to my docs and told the midwives immediately.
I had cbt which did nothing because the therapist wasn't much cop but I put off taking meds until my daughter was 6 months because I was Breastfeeding. Once they kicked in I felt absolutely fine.
I had been functioning, on the whole, but I felt hideous.
Anyway, after a year of being fine, I'm pregnant again and terrified of it all happening again. I had a bit of morning sickness yesterday and my brain misinterpreted it, threw in some random scary thoughts about my ability to cope and a small panic attack ensued. I don't want it to come back :-(
So, a long story in a few paragraphs!
