When do other people take Mirtazapine?

I've been reading another post about someone who takes their Mirt at 7pm ready to go to sleep at 10pm. My anxiety is all related to sleep, or rather the lack of it, and hasn't improved since taking this. I've been taking it at 9pm, ready to go to bed at 10pm. I still feel awake most of the night and get up in the morning tired an exhausted. Can anyone tell me when I should be taking it?

When I was on Dosulepin which has a similar sedative affect I was told to take it at 7pm. 1-2 hours later I felt so tired.

I take it 1-2 hours before bedtime too.

It's no sleeping drug, though, if you're not sufficiently relaxed at bedtime it won't help.

I use it as part of a "bedtime routine" involving winding-down before bedtime, usually reading for an hour or two.

I take mine around an hour before I go to sleep.
