Fluoxetine is it working?

I have been taking fluoxetine for roughly 8-9 weeks now. I do feel as if it has helped but now the anxiety is starting to creep back in and i am doubting that they are working for me now. I am wondering if i need to ask my doctor to increase the dose. I am currently taking 20mg. Has anyone else experienced this? I feel as if i would not cope without them.

Hi yes, it seems like it's common for people to up the dose on here. I personally have only been on it for three weeks. Some said you may get side effect in doubling the dose, but they are not that bad. Others said you could start with 30mg and then move to 40mg, everybody seems to recommend talking to your doctor about what is best, but rest assured it seems very normal in this forum. It was also suggested to try to treat the extra anxiety through reading on anxiety, if you were not feeling like upping the dose.

Oh, by the way the side effects you may get in upping the dose, are only at first apparently.
