Mirtazipine to Venlafaxine

I've been changed from Mirtazipine to Venlafaxine. Apparently one of the common side effects is dramatic weight loss..? I struggle to keep weight on, so don't really want to lose any...anyone had experience of this ? Thanks.

I'm on duloxetine, an SNRI like venlafaxine.

If it's anything like this there's no dramatic weight loss other than (so far) a reduction in appetite.

So you may not feel as hungry but if you take in enough calories you won't lose weight.

If this were possible it'd be marketed as a diet aid :)

I think most people experience weight gain? I did when I went up to 150mg's.
When I reduced back down i lost the weight, I'm currently on 75mg and normal weight again.

Hi i changed from mirt to venlafaxine and didn't have dramatic weight loss, i just didn't have the constant munchies which i had whilst on the mirt, since being on venlafaxine my weights stable x x

I've gone the other way and taking Mertazapine 15mg after 3 times being on Ven.
No dramatic weight loss on Ven and still had a good appetite.
