It is two years today since my Dad died. I just wanted somewhere I could remember him. To my lovely Dad I'll always remember you. Loving thoughts and happy memories. Xxx

This thread just made me cry. It's my dads birthday on the 21st of April and I don't know what I'd ever do when he's gone. We've been through everything together.

That's a lovely post elizabeth-jane. i'm so glad you shared ....

One of hardest things I have found with loved people I have lost, especially when my life has moved on to a place where no-one knew the person i had lost, is the lack of opportunity to really talk about them. I want to talk about them but there's no no-one to tell.
So I wondered if there are there any particular memories that you'd like share with us that mean alot or even simple ones where things made you happy when you were with your dad?

Thank you he was a larger than life person who loved music, pop music and had his own disco!! He also enjoyed photography and ballroom dancing.Although a big man he was very light on his feet! He couldn't cook but once made me toast when I was ill. He could also repair anything electrical and once had a shop with his elder brother.

I love that description, EJ. It paints a really good picture. Was it like a mobile disco?

Yes he loved doing weddings and parties but not for some years now. His birthday is on 23rd April. EJ

One of my former colleagues is a dj, he does the same sort of thing. In fact he dj'd at another one of our friend's weddings. We had a brilliant day. Did you go along with him ever?

Missed this post. Sorry :hugs::hugs::hugs:Elizabeth Jane xx
I often go to my visit my late parents in church yard and have a natter.
Sounds silly really, but I always feel better afterwards.
Take care

Big hugs elizabethjane:hugs:
You obviously have some lovely memories of him to treasure.
I go to the cemetry and talk to my parents. I do that as well when we drive past their house.
