This is on behalf of my 20 year old sister by the way, not me.

Anyway, on most nights she is making LOUD hiccup like noises in her sleep. Only on the odd occasional night she doesn't do it. Since I have insomnia and am awake nearly all the time then I often hear it. Every time she gets up in the mornings I say 'hey, you were hiccuping again last night!', and she always responds with 'did I?'. So she's completely unaware of it which is kinda worrying.

I've told my parents about it but they don't think it's concerning whatsoever. I would just like to know if anyone else has heard of this or if it's normal? I refuse to Google any symptoms anymore as it always triggers off health anxiety for both me and my sister.

Thanks in advance. :)

It could be something simple like silent acid reflux. A sudden rush of acid can make you kinda gasp every now and then in your sleep. If i's that, drinking a small glass of milk before she goes to bed (natural antacid) might stop it.
