My mum's friend had mouth cancer and her bloods were all over the place, so I think it would show something. Have you bitten the inside of your mouth? that would stop hurting fairly quickly but probably leave a scar for a while.

Hi

If your doctor or dentist couldn't see anything then try not to worry, they know what they are looking for.

When my mum's friend had mouth cancer it was awful, it was very painful, her mouth was swollen and her blood tests were all over the place. As soon as she saw her doctor he told her he thought it was oral cancer and referred her urgently to the hospital.

I think if they aren't worried and your bloods are ok, you shouldn't worry either :yesyes:

Oh you sound so like me, I always think that whatever I have will be too late to treat and I'm a goner etc.

Let's look at this logically you are 27 very very young for Oral Cancer.

You probably don't have many of risk factors, years of smoking, heavy alcohol consumption?

My mums friend was 65 she smoked heavily most of her life and she drank all the time and I'm talking bottle of wine a night!

Your doctor and dentist don't think you should be worried, doctors know what they are looking for and so do dentists, part of your routine dental check up is to look for signs of oral cancer, if they were worried they would have told you, they don't keep things from us, despite what we think.

Please try not to worry the chances of this being anything serious is virtually nil, they are only referring you to give you peace of mind not because they are worried.

I know it's hard and we always think the worst but I honestly don't believe you have any cause for concern.
Take care

Exactly so they have even given you a reason for it and if you clench your teeth it would be quite easy to bite a bit of your cheek without even realising.

The thing with us is we look at the symptoms and automatically assume the worst which is the nature of HA.

When I was speaking to my doctor once about something he said that's the worse thing about it, is that there are a hundred different reasons for the symptoms we experience but we always assume it's cancer, or a heart attack, not a virus infection or something similar which in reality is far more likely.
