Hello all,
Just took my first Duloxatine (60mg) tablet and now I'm worried, stressing etc!

I feel like I'm waiting for all the nasty side effects to happen, arggh.

Oh well, bring it on (please don't)!!

I must admit, I was the same, but I started on 30mg and took a few days off work :)

My main side effect was just extreme tiredness and lethargy, but it passed after a few days.

Good luck. Hope the drug works well for you.

Well, I survived day one!

Thanks Mark for replying, I felt okay just a bit of queasiness, but had a weird nights sleep, it felt like I just had my eyes shut but not sleeping. I hope my sleep is going to be okay, I rely on that its like an escape.

I asked the pharmacist how I should switch, he said to alternate between the Sertraline and Duloxetine until the Sert is gone, so tonight is a Sert night(25mg).

I hate all this tablet lark!

So do I. I wish I could manage without them, but a couple of drugs saves years of therapy for me :)

I've tried self-help books, CBT counselling, psychiatrists and therapists over the years, but nothing calms or quietens my mind chatter, obsessive ruminations, constant churning of worry and fear quite like the right prescription medication :)

I've gone through some good ones over the years which have helped me, but they either stopped helping (pregabalin, propranolol) or are no longer prescribed (dosulepin, doxepin).

I'm hopeful that duloxetine will prove to be the one that takes the constant fear out of my life.

Hope it does for you too.

Hows it going Lynn? Are you feeling OK on the duloxetine?

Hi Mark yeah I'm feeling okay at the moment, but I think as soon as I'm on the Duloxatine by itself, then I'll know for sure, plus the weather has been so nice and that helps!

Do you know if I can take Lorazepam (1mg) whilst I'm on Duloxatine? I'm just trying to think ahead hoping I'll feel more in control should my anxiety shoot up.

How's things with you?

Lynn

I'm fine thanks.

I certainly think the duloxetine is helping.

I'm still getting anxious at times, over-reacting or obsessing over small matters, but when nothing particular is on my mind I feel calmer.

I didn't expect miracles, but even one step forward is better than nothing, so I'm satisfied with the effect at the moment but hoping it becomes a permanent feeling.

Yes you can - though best to discuss this with your pharmacist.

Thanks for replying Ducky. Will do.

Things are going okay so far, but I've only had three doses of Duloxetine (I'm alternating with Sertraline). Feeling a bit queasy, not sure if its the meds or me, also a couple of times after I had the Duloxetine, I've felt cold, not shivery but chills, again not sure what's causing that. And a bit of lightheadedness, so it's so far so good.

Lynn:)

I didn't want to pre-empt the side effects for you, but I'll now confirm that I got chills and nausea too. Both passed in a few days.

Thanks for replying Mark.
It's strange how these meds effect us this way. Last night my feet were absolutely ice cold, another odd side effect maybe?

Queasiness not too bad at the mo, but sleep is disturbed :(

I don't sleep great, even with the mirtazapine helping - it's best to take duloxetine early in the day if you're having sleep difficulties.

I take mine not long after I get up, although I forgot today (so used to taking drugs on a night)

I'm currently changing the time I take my tablet, I didn't want to suddenly change from evening to morning incase I got side effects, so I'm gradually getting earlier every day. I think it's having an effect but not sure really.
