I have always been paranoid about my eyes and went to opticians about 6-7 times last year for no reason. All i have had is a slight stigmatism in right eye. I have glasses which I barely use for it but have worn them a bit more of late. For the last two days my eye has felt strained especially when moving it left and right. But this morning i had about a minute where it felt like there was real pressure behind my eye and pain. This has gone now but I am so scared. What is going on?
Ive been on google now. Im so scared- what if its glaucoma. Im scared so much-I think this is going to be my new obsession. Blindness is the scariest thing ever. Please can someone help. Has anyone had this? Sorry to sound like a freak but can someone reply
If i went opticions a couple of months back would they have noticed it- went loads last year .Surely someone must have had this. Its itching now

Anyone know. I'm feeling so bad

Big yes, they would definitely have seen glaucoma, its quite easy to spot, they can see lots from eyes including diabetes, high BP etc.
Also I have a astigmatism in both eyes and when I have been reading or using the comp a lot I also get eye pain, don't worry  did the worlds biggest worrier say that LOL its quite common especially in people who should wear glasses and don't.
Hope you feel better for that.

hi, i had this same symptom yesterday, it was hurting right behind my eye, the first thought was 'blindness' , than i stated thinking rattionally and looked back at the day from the morning to see if i have done something that resulted in this pain. than i remembered that in the morning i went to the gym after a good session of cycling, i was all sweaty, and changed my sunglasses to normal glasses, i was near an open window, and the sudden change of temperature affected my eye, it was like when you catch a cold, but in your eye, today the pain passed, but this morning was sooo itchy, now the itchiness is gone too....see it was nt nothing serious after all ;)

I have checks once a year for glaucoma as its in the family and that's how often I have to go and in between I don't worry, its quite often hereditary as well.
If you said you hadn't been opticians for years I might have said go but 2 months is not long and the pressure would have shown before I am sure.
If you are really worried then just to make you calmer ring your opticians and explain you have HA they will reassure you I know.

Thank you, I would rather not ring or go due to the fact I know it will start off a cycle as it did when I went to the opticiand around 7 times in about 2 months last year and even went to the hospital twice thinking something was wrong. Im trying to calm myself by thinking there would be more symptoms etc and that no one in my family has had it but google has made me like this today.

When I was younger I used to have a form of migraine that took my site completely for a couple of hours it scared the **** out of me and I too have a dread of going blind, but there would be lots more signs and your optician would have whisked you off to a specialist pronto, once when i was having a bad time with ha i mentioned my fear to a friend and he pointed to the sun and said can you see that I said yes and he said how far do you want to see,:yesyes: it made me smile, this may sound hard but the worst thing about HA is that it robs us of something possibly more precious than sight, and that's the ability to live our lives to the full.
One day you look back and realize you have missed so many things because we are so full of worry that cures nor helps anything :bighug1: and then its too late.

An anxious person whith eye strain?? How odd. :)
Seriously, the more you get paranoid, the more you strain your eyes and the more you notice pain (or disturbances, in many people's case). I know how it feels! Accepting it's anxiety is the first step... Eyes are organs like others, they are influenced by our state of mind/body. Just see how many topics on here are about vision!
Btw, I don't think you'd feel actual pressure in the eye if it was high. Anyway, you had your eyes checked so many times, 100% they're ok.
