Hi all, I was just wondering what painkillers I can take whilst on Duloxetine.

Yesterday and last night were very windy and this morning I woke up to a fence panel blown down, so I went out to stand it up, and I aggravated a pulled muscle in my back which I did a couple of weeks ago, for that I took 1 Syndol. But since then I've started the Duloxetine so I don't know whether I can take Syndol with these.

I'm going to the shops later, but I need to sort my back out now.
For reference Syndol contain: 450mg Paracetamol, 10mg Codeine, 5mg Doxylamine Succinate and 30mg Caffeine.

I only ever take 1 of these because they can make you feel drowsy.

Thanks for any advice you can give.
Lynn

I'm not a Doctor obviously, but I think you'd be safe with that combination.

The painkillers to avoid are the NSAIDs such as ibuprofen and diclofenac (Voltarol). Also aspirin.

That's because these in combination with any SNRI or SSRI can increase the risk of bleeding in the digestive system.

Well, I checked with the pharmacist and he said it was okay.

I knew about Ibruprofen and Aspirin I can't take those anyway
Thanks for replying.
