Low Oxygen Level

I went to cardiology apt this week and they tested my oxygen levels with one of those finger measurers. It took a few minutes for my oxygen level to show normal which sent me into a panic. Does anyone know why this might have happened. I forgot to ask doctor.

It takes as long as they leave it on, usually while they do BP and write notes, its amazing how it works, did you have nail varnish on?
