Hi, my names Sarah and I've just discovered this site today and am hoping I will get lots out of it.
Had my first major panic attack driving along the M56 in May this year, felt so ill, I was sure I was dying - blurred vision, beating heart, chest pains, couldn't swallow, arms felt like lead weights and an incredible feeling of dizziness. It got worse as there was no where I could pull off the motorway for a few miles but eventually managed to and ended up in a side street in manchester. My brother had to come and get me as I couldn't drive back, I felt dreadful all weekend after that. Doctor put me on betablockers but they made me feel even less in control and spaced out so stopped them.
Worst attack to date was in Sainsburys (I hate the lights in there because they are so bright and always affect my eyes and so I start to panic). Managed to pay at till and then promptly fainted - when I came to I was told I had had a seizure (has anyone else experienced this??), ambulance took me off to hospital and had to spend the night there. Recently had a EEG to rule out epilepsy but no results as yet so I'm still worried about that.
Was meant to go out to see a customer today but could not bring myself to drive to manchester on my own so got worked up and started to panic - not good, I'm now worried I will lose my job (I'm a sales rep driving around most of the day) if I don't get a hold on this. Would welcome any help/tips/advice that may have worked for any of you.
Thanks,
Sarah.
