Hospital Appointment - I feel a fraud!

Before I had anxiety and depression this time, I went to my doctors to tell him that for 3 months I was having frequent bouts of diarrhea, stomach that felt like a brick was in it and loss of appetite. He took me seriously and referred me to the Gastroenterology Dept and my appointment came today (not until 15 July)

I now believe that there is nothing wrong with me, and the above symptoms are just symptoms of panic and anxiety brought on by myself. I feel such a fraud and I don't want to waste the consultants time. I discussed this with my doctor and he still thinks that I should go to rule anything out!

Don't know if I should go or not...... ??????????????????????

And if I do go do I tell the consultant what I think?

I think your doctor is right. Just have the docs at the Gastro dept take a look at you. It will help you if you get the same symptoms again to reassure you. Just explain that you had this symptoms for a while and that they subsided, but that your doctor wants them to take a look anyway. That way you are totally honest and yet at the same time are letting them decide what to do.
