View Full Version : Does anyone else have CONSTANT floaters?

I keep seeing threads about people who have floaters every now and then, or only the clear kind. Does anyone else have constant hair-like/dot floaters? I see mine when I'm at the computer, when I'm driving, when I'm at work... the only thing that makes them better is wearing dark sunglasses, and that only provides limited relief and only when I'm outside. I have 2-3 noticeable ones but 5-10 altogether that I can see in brighter lighting. Moving my eyes up and down quickly provides relief for all of about 15 seconds.

Combine that with the occasional flash and other visual weirdness and it's a solid recipe for non-stop anxiety. I just visited my eye doc and he said everything looks to be in tip-top shape, and that I have "young, healthy retinas".

Anyone else?

I have several floaters like you described. They caused me lots of anxiety for quite a while. They were more noticeable when I ought about them. They are still there but I don't think bout me anymore so I have gotten used to them and ow only notice them in very Brit light. I was worried about them a lot and have had several eye check ups and all normal. My doc says floaters and occasional flashes are vey normal, sme get them. Ore than others. Your eyes will adjust to them, and they may go away in time.

Yes. I've had floaters for what I feel like is my whole life. I remember times as a kid making them move around when I was bored. I only notice them now when I think about them or when I'm in the bright sunlight. Sometimes a bright computer screen. My doc said staring at a computer screen at work has probably made them worse.

Anyway I've worried about them a few times in my life but I've had my eye exam and all is clear. They are very common. I also worried once about the "starbursts" I see off of car head lights at night for example. Also normal.

I went to the eye doctors and they told me I have a floater in my right eye. I only see it when I look at the sky or at a white wall.

I have heaps of them and they seem to have gotten worse. I notice them more when I'm stressed out or tired, but they are there all the time.

Me too - I have loads of them in both eyes. My optician said it was perfectly normal and part of getting older (I'm only 42 but that made me feel like a pensioner). I've had them for years and I'm used to them now and only notice them when looking at something bright and light.

They don't cause me any problems and they're not going away so I gave up worrying about them a long time ago.

Hope that helps

Pip

I have them ALL the time. I have two lines in my right eye. Sometimes they are really annoying. When you focus on them it is very annoying. SO NORMAL THOUGH.

Me too .. got loads, both eyes. Did same, got it all checked, told it was normal. Don't worry about it now. Tend to see mine clearly when i'm "Cloudspotting" on a sunny day.

It's great to hear this from everyone. I'm hoping I learn to adjust soon.
