sounds like another symptom of anxiety to me.
Or maybe it is your sinuses, they can cause dizziness...do you suffer with sinuses.

I get the dizzyness, it comes and goes, sometime i dont have it for weeks, then i have every day for weeks!

Hope you feel better soon

Hi marcia

I get the dizziness also... It is not fun, and can be VERY scary. I think that sometimes anxiety can cause your inner ear to do strange things. Once that happens, dizziness just makes sense. I have attributed a lot of my diziness to being too tense... My jaw will be somewhat clenched also. While it is not harmful, it IS very scary.

Hi Molly,

yep I agree with everyone else, I think it is just another symptom. I thought it may be the chemicals in the brain but i'm not sure.
Do you also get the spaced out feeling too? I tend to sit down when I can when i get these feelings. Sorry I can't be much more help. x

Well I've just had a couple of rough days with lots of dizziness and feeling spaced out amongst other things. Had to abort a trip to the supermarket and then spent twenty minutes in a P.O. queue before succumbing to thinking I was going to faint and having to leave immediately. Really crap couple of days actually and I've had to get a few more Xanax off my Doc despite deciding that I wasn't gonna take em again.

Hi,
Ive read on here that anxiety affects the balance in our ears, causing the dizziness, i expect the shallow breathing doesn't help.
I have dizziness that can last for weeks and then it will go and come back again a few weeks later.

Hi,
This is for anyone with dizzyness/vertigo, I have suffered with vertigo on and off for over ten years and at the beginning of this year had a horrible bout that got better but didn't go entirely.
I thought it was gonna be with be forever, until I went to the specialist who was brilliant.
Apparantley I had been completely avoiding doing all the things that brought the dizzyness on i.e. putting my head in certain positions, excercising bending down too far etc etc.
The specilist said that if i carry on doing this my body will not compensate for my inner ear (which he said was probably damaged 10 years ago doing sport) problem.
So in other words I must do the things that make me dizzy even more!!!
I left his office rather dubious but thought it was worth giving it a try along with some other excercises he gave me, within two days I didn't have one dizzy spell, I could even look underneath the sofa!!!!!
From practicing I can now twiz around about twenty times on the spot, even my husband can't do this and my little boy loves it and giggles like mad when I do it.
Hope this helps

hi there,

my main symptom is dizziness too, i get it on and off all day long for days, even weeks. A few months back i was only having 1 good week in every 4 where i didnt get the dizziness.

The dizziness is what gets to me over every other symptom, its scary and even though it only lasts a few seconds at a time it really freaks me out.

I too get it if i put my head a certain way, laugh too much, cough, its like my brain just automatically does it.

If i dont think about it i dont get them, then as soon as i think "oh i've not had a dizzy spell in half hour" guaranttee i'll get one.

I keep getting them now i'm writing this.

I also have a feel tight pressure head with it today, its bloody awful!

Hope you are feeling better soon, it will pass

Hi, as you are probley aware dizziness is a form of anxiety, but your saying that you feel worse when putting your head to the right! This could be an inner ear infection.

Take Care

YES I GET THIS ALSO. MY HEAD GOES TIGHT. AND I FEEL DIZZY. IT WAS EXPLAINED TO ME BY THE DOC THAT ITS TENSION IN YOUR EYES, EARS AND NECK MUSCLES. IT IS ALL DOWN TO ANXIETY. I FIND IF I DISTRACT MY SELF WITH DOING OTHER THINGS AND NOT FOCUSING ON IT. IT DOES GO AWAY. I KNOW ITS HARD TO DO. BUT SOUNDS LIKE ANXIETY TO ME

Thought id just say, Ive been doing roundabout therapy,
basically we take the kids to the local park where there is a roundabout,
I get on it and as I have a phobia of being dizzy, it really seems to be helping me . When I am on it I get terrified, I grip the bars for dear life and when I get off it I tell myself "THATS WHAT REAL DIZZINESS IS LIKE".
