Can anyone help....Im on my 6th day of this med. and I feel so rough, heads all foggy blurry vision are these side effects.

Hi yes hun there all side effects, when i first started venlafaxine i nearly quit on my 4th day! Keep going it should wear off soon x x

I agree with Nicola, hang in there, things will definitely get better. Has your GP given you any diazepam to help with the start up side effects? Might be worth asking if you havent got any. Good luck xx :yesyes:

Aw thanks Ladies.... I do have a couple of diazepam which I use for flying. 2mg will the be ok with them.

The odd 2mg should be fine to help you if you are feeling really bad. :hugs:

I take venlafaxine and have just been given 2mg of diazepam by GP to take at the same time

I was also given diazepam whilst starting up venlafaxine, it really helped x x

Wow.....well I've had the most awful panic attack this morning, In the end my husband has'nt gone to work.

Why is this happening, I know I have been getting very anxious about being on my own, alone in the house, in case something happens to me. It was not too many months ago I could stay on my own, days and nights...

Anyone else suffers with this?

Aww, so sorry to hear that Katie...I too have been there before and it's very unsettling.

Did you get some diazepam to take with your Ven? I am sure this will help a little.

Hi Katie
when I first had ven I had increased anxiety and severe mood swings. I felt sick, agitated, and generally horrid. I had diaz to help. My doc prescribed 2mg x3 which I took at regular intervals through the day. I think the ven made me feel worse to start with but when it kicked in it was wonderful and made me feek good. Keep going Katie..you will start to feel better soon but it does take time

I haven't seen the Gp yet as he's on holiday for 2 weeks, but I found 10 x 2mg diazepam.

Can I ask, has anyone lost their appetite or some days cant be bothered eating whilst being on ven.

Hi i lost my appetite whew i first started venlafaxine but once it settled down it came back, how many weeks you been taking it now? X x

I lost my appetite too Katie, just try and eat little and often when you can. It did come back after a few weeks though. I hope it is going well for you xx

I'm into my third week now, its just some days I just dont want to eat...I've lost about 5lbs (which is good, needed to). My anxiety does seem alittle better. But still early days. Thanks :hugs:

I still feel calmness from Venlafaxine as soon as i've taken it in the morning(75mg), been on it for the past 2 months. I've been paired up with mirtazapine aswell, and they are doing a dyno-job.

First few days was a absolute rush for me on venla, actually felt sorta stoned :)

Only bad thing i've heard about venlafaxine/Effexor is the withdrawl.
