I have really bad brain tumour anxiety.
I have had constant headaches and a dull head pain for almost 10 years. Along with many other symptoms. Most recently I keep getting a weird feeling when I go out. Such as not feeling real, and being dizzy :( anyone else get this? I get these symptoms even when I'm not anxious.

Remember if you had a malignant brain tumour you would not still be alive after 10 years. The symptoms of malignant brain tumour are often severe for example sudden fits or loss of use of arm say or sudden change in vision etc etc.

Dizziness can be caused by a million benign things including your neck muscles being tense from anxiety! This means that you need not actually be feeling anxious but your muscles are tense and your neck muscles and bones have balance receptors in them sending messages to your inner ear. Anything that interferes with this can cause dizziness or vertigo.

It does not sound as if you have true vertigo ( sudden severe onset with extreme spinning) sounds more like a constant feeling of unsteadiness but correct me if I am wrong here.

Have you had an eye exam recently? Opticians are the most common medical professional to spot th signs of a brain tumour as your eyes are the window to your brain. Get yourself an eye test and this should put your mind at rest.

What has the Dr said about your symptoms??

I can really relate to this, I am currently experiencing the same thing and spending my days trying to make myself accept that I am fine when every part of me is screaming the opposite.
I am a few months in to my second bad bout of health anxiety and am finding that it evolves on a daily basis. If I manage to accept, after a heart scan and 7 day heart monitor) that there is nothing wrong with my heart then I wake up the next day with no further heart symptoms but plenty of brain tumour symptoms (or so I imagine). It is exhausting, frustrating and frightening.
Today I was at the Dr trying to convince him of a link between my trembling neck, dizziness and visual distortion. I went on to the optician and persuaded them to give me an eye exam with pupil dilation drops this weekend.
I also regularly become paralysed with fear because I can't remember something (where I hid my daughters easter egg was the worst) and am instantly convinced I have early onset dementia.
All these things would sound ridiculous to someone with a healthy mind (?!) but to me they are all consuming and worrying about them occupies a large part of my day.
Dizziness and depersonalisation are the two things most responsible for my panic when out. I can be feeling fine, with no symptoms of anxiety at all until I feel a slight dizziness then I am instantly in full on panic mode. I know I have created a lot of pain in my neck from tension and I know the two things are often related but it is hard to think rationally when I need to.
I am trying to find a way to stop myself reacting to the dizziness and to truly believe it is anxiety related. It is hard, but in rational moments it makes a lot of sense.

Hello Countrygirl, thanks for the response. :)
I appreciate your positive comments, I'm just trying to realize that yes I would be dead by now. It just REALLY worries me that lately my symptoms have been getting worse, but maybe it's just my anxiety getting worse due to college. :(

It's interesting to hear about the neck tension, I sometimes have a sore neck. I'm just glad my dizziness isn't as bad as it was last month. I've never mentioned this, but I also grind my teeth bad at night and sometimes wake up with a locked jaw. I can easily dislocate my jaw, and it clicks when I open my mouth. I also feel a pain right infront of my ear when I chew something. I'm wondering if that could be the problem, hmm

I don't think it's vertigo either, my dad has it and our symptoms aren't too alike. I had an eye exam about two years ago, but before that once a year. I'll be going again soon this year. The only thing they've seen is a floater in my right eye. Which is super annoying! haha

When I went to the doctors, I explained my list of symptoms (which I put in my other posts :P) and he right away said I don't have anything, even without doing any examinations. He did small neurological tests on me, checked my blood pressure, looked into my eyes and ears, he also did a blood test to check my thyroid, blood count, and vitamins and everything was great. He told me it was anxiety, and literally right after I left the doctor I felt so much better. :)

Hello, thanks for the reply.
I'm sorry to hear about everything you're going through. I can really relate to what you're going through, it seems to be so hard to keep my anxiety down when I feel just a small symptom coming. I spend my time googling and searching things online which doesn't make anything better.

I hope your eye exam goes well, I bet it's just all anxiety :) The last time I got my eyes checked was two years ago, I should go again soon but I'm really worried they will see something. :weep:

Dizziness and feeling as if I'm not real also sets me off! It's such a scary symptom, that seems to come when I'm super anxious. It's hard to ignore it, my dad has a lot of unexplained dizziness and he seems to be really good at ignoring it, wish I had that willpower!

Do you have head pains?

You mention waking up with a locked jaw and also grinding your teeth. I fyou have jaw joint problems which it sounds very much like you do then this can also cause bad dizziness as the jaw joint is so close to your ear.

A dentist can help you with this although you may need to find one that specialises in it.

Hi Countrygirl,
I went to the dentist about my jaw last year since the last 4 years it seems like it has been getting worse. They made a mouth guard for me to wear while I sleep, I hate it though and rarely wear it. I probably should though:weep:
