im glad you had a good experience with your specialist.

I've encountered a lot of crappy and sometimes aggressive gps over time but sometimes you meet a professional who is so thorough and understanding that it completely restores your faith in the nhs. the best people i encountered was a cardiologist who listened to me and actually took me seriously unlike my own gp, some nice technicians who took time to help me relax and stopped me worrying about the procedure, and countless nurses/paramedics who have been real angels.

at least now you can completely put it out of your mind. im happy for you.

Hi

I am happy that you got the all clear, and he spent time talking through everything. My dentist also spends time reassurance me no signs of anything abnormal in my mouth (like tumours) just dental work and teeth, tongue and gums etc. no lumps

Do you now think you can move on from this because you have been insisting you had mouth cancer for a long time?

yeah i really do its been a tough few years and now i feel so stupid for wasting my life i know this isn't the ends of my anxiety by any means but mouth cancer is my ultimate fear and when he told me the real likely hood and the actual facts of mouth cancer i am seriously low risk .i do now have to go to the dentist to get a bottom teeth guard as well as my top one to stop my nighttime clenching which is causing muscular spazms x

You might find that with this weight off your shoulders, the night time clenching will stop. Here's hoping xx

It's really good news, I am really pleased for you. In terms of feeling stupid or wasting your life, well.... We All have our fears and things that knock us off track. Maybe you have had your share of this now but you have come this far now and can build on this positive experience.
Also it's really good of you to share your journey because people seeing you get reassurance from a thorough health professional is very likely to sway others towards trusting their practitioners. Plus you have faced all this head on. That takes guts. Many people would bury their head in the sand but you are holding your head up high now.
Also it's great that he not only took you seriously, but made sure he did explain things clearly.
It's one thing someone saying "oh don't worry just believe me I am a professional" but quite another when they gain your trust because they are thorough and they take your concerns seriously and address them clearly and one by one.
