I posted a while ago about taking nortriptyline for sleep. I haven't really started taking them yet (just a couple of times on half the dose) and I went back to my doctor to talk about taking something for the anxiety and depression that I have. We have decided to give the nortriptyline a proper go. I'm wondering if anyone has had any success with this drug with regards to anxiety and depression? I don't want to hear any negative stories please - that would just make me more anxious!
I have been prescribed 10mg at night, which can be increased if I tolerate it. I am very nervous about starting the medication and was thinking I would start with half the prescribed dose for the first week, then go up to 10mg. I know I shouldn't be afraid and it's a very small dose, but I have reacted to small doses of SSRIs badly in the past.
Any good news stories with this drug in relation to anxiety and depression would be welcome.
