Hi. I have been reading this site for well over a year and found it very helpful, so now decided to join.
I suffered myself from depression probably on and off through the birth of my children (who are now grown up), but didn't realise it at the time. Then when i was 40 i had a major breakdown, which took me a good couple of years to recover from.
One of my sons who is now 30, had panic attacks and major anxiety through school and was diagnosed with Ocd when he was 15. With medication, CBT and a wonderful GP he is now at a stage where he is a Peer Representative training to be a Peer Specialist in OCD and i am so proud of him. I also help in a carers capacity talking to parents of young people with Ocd.
I still suffer, more now with anxiety symtoms, and have really found this site to be helpful, and hopefully i can help others along the way!!
