help!

So im a guitarist and today my thumb started going numb, and now the tip of my thumb is constantly numb and the tingling sensation seems to be spreading. Ive just read about carpal tunnel syndrome and now am scared! Please help.

how long have you been playing from when i played i remember the pain in my thumb where it was hardening from being used all the time sounds like that to me blessings

Could be just something random; I've had a lot of finger numbness since my symptoms started. You could be hyperventilating slightly all the time; happens to me a lot for whole days. Could also be thoracic outlet syndrome or another positional nerve thing from having your arms forward and hunching playing guitar a lot. You could always see a doctor if you're concerned about carpal tunnel, but maybe try stretching and holding your arm and shoulder in different positions to see if it effects the numbness? I've found it often does for me.
