Hi All

I have one really itchy nipple that has tried hydrocortisone and thrush cream with little effect. i have no rash so it cant be eczema, can it?! i have no discharge or flaky skin, it all looks perfectly normal, apart from this maddening itch.

i can feel the urge to itch it all the time and it sort of twinges from the inside out. some days its not too bad but the doc said if it didn't go away completely, she would refer me to a breast specialist, so my worries have gone though the roof! All i can think about is cancer. :weep:

i go to the gym 2 or 3 times a week on the cross trainers and do fast walking, and read about joggers nipple, even though i don't run.

i am absolutely fantic with worry and can't sleep any more. Any help or advice would be really appreciated.

hi isnt this health anxiety a bummer. i get itchy nipples sometimes, its probably a point in our cycle which effects our hormones. maybe change your shower gel and get a natural deodrant might be helpful. you sound fit and health which is good, try not to worry about it if you are refered on, i was with a breast lump once and i had an altra sound and it was all fine, being referred is just a saftely blanket to cover the drs. try and tell yourself i am being cared for by the drs and they are looking after me so i am doing everything right, thus i should be a bit more content in the knowledge that i am sorting out my worries. try so sleep easy tea to help relax you at bedtime you can get it in waitrose blessings

I also have one itchy nipple. Had my GYN look at it. She didnt seem concerned one bit. Told me to use hydrocortisone cream. I stopped using my shower soap, it seems to have gone away. I was so scared about pagets too.
Have you changed any detergents or soaps?

I know how you feel, its an awfully frightful feeling.

mine seems to not be so itchy but i still have the odd moment. it sort of feels itchy but i dont need to scratch. my doc took a proper look at the nipple through a magnifying glass and said 100% not cancer and he never says 100%. he asked if i wanted to be referred but he said there was no need but my hubby said yes, she does, so just got to wait another week til i go. it's just all i think about!

I looked up Paget's before when I was scared about something else. It at least looks like eczema and some of the pictures were quite gory and looked like the breast had been burnt, so very obvious. I'm SURE you do not have it if your nipple looks normal, especially if your GP also says it's fine.
It sounds strange, but have you tried using Savlon cream on it for the itching? I get quite bad shaving rash under my arms and that's the only thing that works on it. The expensive shaving products, sensitive razors and E45 cream I had for it didn't work and just put a dent in my bank account! :)
