Hi Lily

I have HA and the whole problem with it is it makes you think you have a real health issue. Basically your mind has learned a bad triat of warning you to every change and symptom and you need to re teach it how react and what to ignore. This is NOT EASY but can be done. If you doctor has ruled out any heath issues then ask for counselling and/or CBT therapy. Out of interest what do you belive to be your real heath issues? What are the symptoms? I bet 99% of the people on here will have the same symptoms ;)

Stay positive

Paul

Hi Paul,

It started with my tongue, it was scalloped and of course I googled it and it came up on a neurological forum as a fatal illness symptom which is wasnt so I went to a specialist who said it was just teeth marks so I was fine for a few months.

I had a ulcer on my lip and I was convinced it was oral c

Then I found a lump in my breast, saw my gp and had all the tests turned out to be cysts and okay.

After that reassurance I still check myself several times a day in a panic thinking is there another lump, convincing myself I have got it.

I dont know if this is a symptom of health anxiety or just me being careful about my health? thats why I asked on here to people who do suffer if it sounds familar?

I am always worried about my health to the point I am reduced to tears and panic:weep:

Well its perfectly normal to check your body for things but we as HA sufferes check too much and then we do the worst thing possible and GOOGLE it. My first tip is to never google your symtoms. The funny thing about Anxiety is that is can cause just about any symptom you can think off. i was convinced i was having a heart attack on several occations. The trick is to not worry but that sa trick i am still learning too ;)
