Hello all.

My CBT referral finally came through last week and I had my first session.

It was a fairly relaxed event and the therapist/adviser seems like an affable character. We talked about the process of CBT, specifics of my HA and how bad it gets when I have a full on attack. One thing that I was surprised at was just how much of my behaviour the therapist was able to predict. This made me feel slightly better as it gave me evidence that health anxiety is a know quantity to a certain extent. It was as if he was saying 'we know how this affects you and those around you'.

Coming away I felt strangely calmer and a bit less on edge. This seems to have continued but I'm hesitant to consider it to be 'working' at this early stage. That said, I very much want it to work and will be going into future sessions with 100% engagement and hope in the exercises and the techniques that are in front of me.
