Since yesterday I have been seeing little flashes of light out of the corner of my eyes, and today I made the mistake of googling it. Google said it was a sign of retinal detachment, and now I am panicking. Eye surgery is one of my worst fears, and while I don't want to deal with it in the first place, I don't want it to get worse because the surgeries just get worse from here on.
The problem though, is that my parents refuse to take me to the doctor or any other healthcare provider unless I am showing serious and drastic symptoms. I am just scared that I am experiencing retinal detachment, and that since my parents won't take me to just get it checked out, that I will lose my vision.
I don't really know how anyone here can help, but it would just be nice to have my fears eased in some way.
