Is it just me or does anyone else think its strange to want to clean the counter tops in the kitchen and around the toilet with anti-bacterial sprays or wipes. Is this OCD or just normal cleanliness?

Sounds pretty normal to me. How many times a week or day do you do it?

Sounds normal to me too-I clean both areas pretty much everyday (but then I live with a smelly boy lol!) :D:D:D:D

I think that is normal
But if someone was to clean the counter tops over and over with spray / wipes then id say that is OCD

If you do it and feel it's still not clean nd have to do it again, then you know you have an obsession forming. Otherwise, well done for being clean!

Thanks for your replies. Phew what a relief!

I only do it once a week but I agree if I did it more often then that would be obsessive.

I do have issues with contamination which I am trying to work on eg hand washing only when necessary:

1 After using the loo
2 Before eating
3 Before preparing food

I was given a book to read about 'Overcoming Compulsive Hand Washing' by my CBT therapist I'm afraid I have forgotten the name of the author. The above are regarded as normal hand-washing activities. It's not easy to do
