Hi all, i have been on 10mg citoporam for nearly 4 weeks now. At first my anxiety wasn't too bad but, this week i have had chest pains again and pains in my arms. My doctor told me it would take 3 weeks to work. Just wondering what other people think.

Also i was thinking of getting hypnotised to help me. Has any1 else been hypnotised and if so how has it worked out

Thanks

Hi ant,

All my anxiety symptoms are chest and left arm/armpit related. Have you had your heart checked?

I am on Amitriptyline as doctors have diagnosed me with neuropathic pain due to poor posture and tensing the left side of my body due to anxiety.

Muscle pain can originate in the neck or back and radiate down arm.

I have near constant pain or soreness in my chest, and some days aching in my left shoulder and arm, and docs said repeatedly that my heart was fine. Arm aches seem to be pretty common amongst anxiety sufferers, for some reason. Have you had a heart check up?

The drug you're on is an antidepressant, and they don't work for all anxiety sufferers if they don't also have depression. They do work for some people at low doses, but sometimes docs will try them instead of antianxieties cos antianxieties cause dependence so easily. They make anxiety worse in some people though, so maybe keep an eye on that and discuss with your doc if they don't seem to be suiting you.

Hi have tried hypnotherapy and it helped immensely, find a good therapist on the official register who specialises in anxiety
