Panicking again, very red meat in hamburger

Went to a well known restuarant in london that specialises in burgers.
They do the burgers "medium".
Got mine, was half way through eating it and noticed it was practically bleeding.
Squeezed it and juice came out with a bit of blood in.
I left that bit but had eaten the rest.
Im worried I will get food poisoning :-(
what can I do?

It's beef you won't get food poisening! I eat my steak 'blue' basically seared on the outside for no more than a minute, it's raw on the inside, nothing has ever happened to me!

Firstly you can stop worrying - it's unlikely you'll get food poisoning. It's the heat which kills bacteria, not whether the heat changes the colour of the meat. If there's red liquid coming out, this is ok - it's not actually blood, but myoglobin. As long as the inside was hot it will be fine, and major restaurnats check core temperatures of cooked foods regularly to ensure they are cooked to a safe level.
