I don't know about the medication but I can identify waking feeling panicky in the night. I did this very thing only last night!!!
Piglet xx
"Supposing a tree fell down, Pooh, when we were underneath it?" said Piglet.
"Supposing it didn't," said Pooh after careful thought.
I am not on that medication but I used to wake up all jittery and sometimes still do.
Make sure you have a radio on the bedside table to listen to, take a relaxing book that you can read or a crossword so you aren't there watching the clock tick round. Or write a diary - I do. I feel less lonely when I am awake at that time knowing I have these 'friends' to keep me company.
Yeah, waking up in the night can be SO scary [}:)]
I seem to have got through that phase, and just feel dreadful upon waking normal time...

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance, I hope you dance.
