My GP is sending me for a chest xray at the local hospital. He said results would be 7 days and marked it as semi-urgent.

My question is, after the xray, WHO will look at it to decide if it's normal? Will it be a consultant at the hospital or will it be the GP? Are GP's qualified to judge XRays?

Someone specialised at the hospital. That is why it takes a little while for the results to reach the GP.

A radiologist usually. If they believe that someone specialised should look at it, a pulomonologist if one is there, cardiologist or oncologist will be asked for their opinion. The GP will also see the X-ray and yes, GPs are qualified to look at X-rays.

If there is something structurally wrong it will show, yes. A grat number of things show up on CXRs.
