Not sure if this is a success story or not...

Two weeks ago I met up with some friends from my photo group in Kew Gardens which I posted about.

But this last Sunday there was one in Bristol (100 miles away) which I really wanted to attend. I need to be with people yet knew it would be hard as I can't function in the mornings, I have attacks when away from my 'patch' and I wasn't really sure how I'd cope with staying away the night alone.

I booked the hotel and train last week and so there was no turning back!

The journey was hassle free, scenic on a lovely day. The hotel was great with good food. The meet up was great with friendly people, some of whom I met before and was fine with and the location and weather was great but I was just in such a state with high anxiety levels!

I really thought I'd calm down once I met the people on sunday morning, but that didn't happen...

I'm wondering if it was the size of the group that didn't help, as I was lucky enough to be sharing the same train with one of them on the homeward journey and that was so much more relaxing. I think I prefer one-to-ones and small groups - maybe I get more attention that way?

I have been stressed out the last two days, but my therapist says my weekend has been very healthy for me...One reason I decided to go is because otherwise I would just sit here and stew and regret not going. And I have to face the fear.

The weekend was also helped by a big-hearted lady on this site. Thanks for the texts mate:)

Cheers,

Ray

Well done you. Even deciding to go was a big decision for you at the moment and you made that decision and went.

Yes you had some some wobbles but you did it, you stayed and you are still alive to tell the tale.

I think that was a huge achievement mate.

Very pleased for you.

Well done Ray.

I agree that making the decision to go and then actually going ahead with the weekend in spite of your anxiety is a great success. You did face your fear and you came through it.

I think you did brilliantly.
