can you help?

hiya,ive been taking 75mg of amitriptyline for a while now,last week my gp told me to up the dose to 100mg per night,the first few days were ok,but now about 20 mins after taking them i start to feel really strange,i carnt really say how i feel just strange also its taking me ages to wake up on a morning i feel like i have a thick head,i dont know if its because im aware ive upped the dose or is it all in my head,is anyone else taking this dose or have before,i dont really want to phone my gp {again}hope someone can help

I used to be in amitriptyline to help me sleep,75mg but I could take up to 3.With in an hour of taking it I used to get drowsy and sleepy.In the morning I couldnt wake up and felt groggy for ages and used to get a headache.Its probably where you have up the dosage and your body has to get used to it.If your worried just phone the surgery for peace of mind,they can then say if you need to drop it down again.

Hi,

I have been on amitriptyline for years because I suffer headaches via anxiety. I'm currently on 10mg - 50mg, I can higher and lower my dose due to my anxiety. I'm currently on 50mg and I have trouble getting up. The specialist said I'm to take amittriptyline 12 hours before I get up (ie 7pm as I get up at 7am).
