Hi all,

I'm a 23 year old male and I've always had some level of health anxiety. My symptoms started with some mild chest pains that would come and go. My EKG, stress EKG, and chest xray were all normal, but during my stress EKG the cardiologist noted that my resting heart rate was 120. That is NOT normal for me. For the past week, my heart rate has been all over the place, but I chalked it up to anxiety because everything looked normal to them. Now lately (past 5 days or so) I've been having a lot of fatigue, and aches and pains all over - deep pains that feel like they're in the bone. They're mostly in my forearms/hands and my lower legs. I also just now started having pain in the back of my hand, and I'm mildly nauseous. I'm freaking out because these are all symptoms of bone cancer/leukemia - bone pain is almost NEVER a good thing. My primary care doctor doesn't know what to do with me so she's sending me to a rheumatologist, but I won't be able to see them for a week or two and I'm freaking out that I'm dying!

They ae sympotms of many things - you will have to see what the specialist says. I'm sure you are aware that it could all be anxiety. Certainly the worry is not going to help your heart rate... What works if you try to relax? Music? Meditation? Have you found what works for you yet?
