Has anybody out there used aldara cream for basal cell carcinomas and suffered with side effects? Worried. Finished cream a week earlier than prescribed because according to the dermatologist I was one of the unfortunate 5% who had a reaction .Since finishing the cream have not felt 100% and now have severe pain at top of the spine and neck.

Hi there,

I was prescribed this about 5 years ago. It worked exceptionally well but boy, did it make me feel ill. You wouldn't think it possible for a tiny bit of cream to do that but it can. I had severe flu-like symptoms for a couple of weeks before I started to feel better. It also lowered my white-blood cell count but, again, that got back to normal in a month.
